Paper Collage is a technique where art is made by “cutting and pasting” paper into new shapes and forms. The artist works selects the papers based on color, texture, and pattern and combines them in a way that creates an entirely new result.

In today’s class, we’ll focus on combining black and white patterns with bright colors, by focusing on a single shape that we’ll repeat throughout our collage. Then, we’ll add additional elements, to offer something unexpected. Follow the downloadable prompt for all the steps. Class includes chapters on painting papers to use in collage, including colored pages, black and white patterns, and colored paper with patterns.
