For users having problems here’s the updated procedure ( at least what I did with 3DsMax 2026 ) :

1) Download and install V-Ray. No need to install the License Server (pick Remote option)

2) Copy : vray_v70004_fix.dlr to the 3dsMax plugins dir ( C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2026\Plugins )

3) Copy : ScatterCore.ForScatter_Release.dll to the Scatter dir
for 3DsMax 2026 I pasted it here : %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\ChaosScatter3dsMax2026
(overwrite – replace of course )
