Dynamic Paintings in Procreate
Have you ever wanted to use procreate to paint a comic book or cartoon style art? In this class I’ll be demonstrating how I draw comic and cartoon style artwork that will set your portfolio on the top. With Procreate and the Apple pencil creating interesting dynamic pictures is as easy as pie. Follow along with me as I create two dynamic paintings that showcase many of the techniques needed for getting your art noticed.
What will I learn?
In this class you will learn how to add line art, color, light and shadow to your artwork that will wow the judges and keep those likes and comments coming your way. You will learn how to add in a background and create shadows that seem to blend in naturally with your drawing. I will also be showing you how to create natural looking digital light that will set your paintings apart from the rest.
Why should I take this class?
This class is for anyone looking to enhance their artistic caliber. Although this course is designed for procreate with the apple pencil, I believe that anyone looking to step up their drawing skills could learn something from this class. If you are looking to create comic book or cartoon stylized art, then there will be a ton of value for you throughout this class. I have tried to tailor the class so anyone no matter the skill level will be able to follow along even if you have never used procreate or the apple pencil, I have tried to make the learning platform interesting for those within all skill levels.
What do I need to take the class?
The only materials needed to take the class are an iPad, procreate and an apple pencil. If you however do not have those materials that’s okay feel free to follow along and watch how the digital art process is done. I’ve included the two works of art that I will be demonstrating throughout this course so feel free to download my work if you want. I have also included two reference photos that you can download for free as well if you want to follow along closely throughout the class. If you don’t want to use the included reference phots that’s perfectly okay however I would recommend finding something similar enough that the techniques demonstrated can be applied. Any photos of fish or plants should work. I would encourage you to find photos that showcase good natural lighting and that you personally find interesting and want to turn into digital art.
