What is it forcolor correction?

Color correction is the process of changing the color components of a photograph in order to achieve a better and more realistic result, to improve the perception of an image.

All photographers have to deal with images where the color balance is disturbed to one degree or another. For example, the skin has an extraneous shade, the image is low-contrast, faded.
