The job of a 1st AC is critical; if the focus isn’t where it should be, a powerful moment between characters will be lost. Derek has mastered the art of focus pulling and has been working with Shane Hurlbut, ASC for about twenty years.  In this in depth course, Derek shows us what’s in his kit, shows you how he preps his camera packages, fluid heads, lenses, setting up his focus monitor and many other tricks of the trade that are very rarely discussed.
