Photographing details on newborns is vital. For the first few years, I just didn’t do this. It was something that never really crossed my mind– but once I did, I realized how important these tiny little parts mean to these new moms. Once I understood what the hell I was doing– detail shots became some of my absolute favorite images from sessions. I am not the master of details (cough, Sarai Jacobs, cough) but I have learned a thing or two over the years about capturing newborn details and a way that works best for me and my style of shooting.
