Create a fashion editorial from the idea to its publication in magazines
Rebeca Saray, photographer and digital artist, will teach you how to create two professional fashion editorials step by step, one in color and one in black and white. This is a type of regular journaling that shows the latest trends through photography.
Thanks to Rebeca’s advice, you will discover how to pre-produce the idea, the materials you are going to need, perform a professional model casting and learn to direct its interpretation before the camera, color and black and white lighting techniques and the retouching process to leave the images ready for publication.
What does this course include?
You will begin by knowing the work and influences of Rebeca Saray in the field of fashion photography.
Then you will discover what a fashion editorial is and how to deal with this type of commission: both in color and in black and white. It is a team work, so you will meet the different creatives involved in the process and the necessary materials.
Before taking the photos in the studio, Rebecca will tell you about some previous considerations, the lighting schemes and the light tests she performs and some advice when it comes to photographing people.
With the images already taken, you will make a selection of the best and tweak them in RAW to take advantage of the maximum possibilities offered by the digital negative.
At this point you will learn to clean backgrounds, liquefy and reframe the photo, touch up imperfections on the skin, illuminate, correct the color, add atmosphere and make the final art in PDF ready to be sent to the magazines.
What is the course project?
You will make a professional fashion editorial from the conception of the idea to the preparation of the materials for publication.
Who is it for?
To photographers, designers, lovers of fashion, editorial design, advertising, brand identity and anyone who wants to get into the technique of fashion photography.
