I adore the art and practice of editing a photo. I don’t believe there is a one size fits all preset that is going to bring a magical, long sought after consistency to your work. The trick is to really learn the tools you have at your disposal to emphasize the beauty in your subjects and landscape.
I find I am usually happiest by starting from scratch and coming up with an edit that is specific to the skin tones and available light. This usually only requires two hand edits; one for color and one for black and white. From here I’m able to batch edit the rest of the set with the two edits, and make appropriate tweaks to exposure and white balance to the rest of the session.
