Enrol on Procreate: Solid Foundations, Part 1 – First Steps and find out just how well I can answer these questions for you.

This course gives you a thorough grounding in the tools and techniques you need to know so you can create some great artwork. These tools and techniques are so fundamental that I make sure that they are covered properly and in detail.

Procreate: Solid Foundations is split into different parts so that you can focus on the area of Procreate you want to focus on. But each part is designed to work with and complement the others, so you build up a consistent body of knowledge. Everything you need to know – the how to but also the why to – and learn it when you need it.

Part 1 is to get you started. You get a complete project, start to finish. Along the way I’ll be giving tips and advice based on nearly 40 years as a designer/illustrator. By the end of part 1 you will have overcome the initial ‘What am I supposed to do with this app?!’ and be ready for the more in depth knowledge on the future parts of this course.

Practically every image you see is available as a download so you can follow along and you have many practice videos to develope your new skillset.

This course is aimed at beginners plus existing users who want to round out their knowledge. But that doesn’t mean it’s over simplified. Nope! You will learn the same tools and techniques that are used in professional studios.

I’ve been in quite a few design studios in my time and – just between you and me – there’s things on this course that I’ve had to explain to people who use art programs on a daily basis. That’s something I can do for you too. As well as being a designer for decades I also spent some time as a teacher and my university degree is all about how people learn. And it is my firm belief that the right way to learn something like Procreate is not to just learn the tools. The right way to learn Procreate is to practice the right workflow, and use the tools when they are needed.
