I’m excited to get to share the processes and techniques I use to add depth to my images. Before we dig in, I want to give a big thank you and shout out to Unraveled Academy for this awesome opportunity. This community is like no other and it’s an honor to get to share a little of my art and heart with you.
Depth by definition is the quality of being intense or extreme. Adding intensity to an image is about creativity, imagination, but most importantly HEART. When you are looking for ways to add more depth to your images it isn’t just about creating something that looks good. Adding depth is also about adding your heart and soul to your work. In this lesson I’ll be sharing insights into the ways in which I take my images to a deeper level as well as tips on how to compose your images to project the feelings and emotions you want them to convey. Just remember, there is no right or wrong way to make an image speak to you. Each one of us has a specific style we are drawn to and we therefore create from our own unique and beautiful points of view. As an artist I tend to gravitate towards a moodier feel but that doesn’t mean these techniques can’t be used for someone with a brighter or lighter editing style. Use these examples but don’t be afraid to try new things and experiment! Create from your heart and you’ll never fail.
