The Studio Handbook, Chapter One
You can’t have a 45 year career in art making, 25 of those as a gallery owner as well, without learning a LOT about art, art supplies, art techniques and art processes.
All art media is full of secrets and magic and mayhem. You can be astounded by it possibilities and frustrated by its mysteries. But we seem to always want to know more about them and to push their limits.
So, I thought it would be a really good thing to share some of my accumulated knowledge with you.
A great way for us to do that is by creating a Studio Handbook together, so that what you learn can be kept at “hand” and easily referenced anytime.
So this class will be about hanging out with me in my studio(s) and sharing what I know about art making. There will be tips and product reviews and how-to’s and inventive hacks etc. about an unlimited range of media.
And your Project will be to create your own personal Handbook to record what you learn in your own style – in notes and pictures, and by trying the demos yourself as we go. This is the first “Chapter” of the Studio Handbook class – so we will be growing that book and your art knowledge in future Chapters as well.
I know we are going to have fun because the favorite topic for all artists is to talk about art supplies and what they do – and how we can make them do what WE want them to do!
