Welcome to class! Today we’re going to be learning about Dynamic Paint and the types of effects it can offer. My goal is to have become more familiar with a pretty underrated and underutilized system within Blender.

Dynamic paint is a modifier that acts as an extension to the Blender physics system that can turn objects into paint canvases and brushes, creating waves, using vertex data for masks between multiple materials or displacement. This makes for many effects such as footsteps in the sand, raindrops that make the ground wet or abstract concepts or procedural effects.

This class is for anyone who has an interest in Blender and 3D art as a whole. Prior basic knowledge of Blender is recommended but not required. I’ll also be narrating and displaying my every keypress so you can follow along step by step.
